Here goes the start of Pro-HL eXtreme CSS League coverage on Quickscope, over the next few weeks (hopefully once I have recruited someone else to help out with this), someone else will be doing a weekly prediction news post on the three divisions which make up Season 5. We start with dust2 as the lead in to our map rotation, it mirrors EDCSSL Map rotation for the first 3 weeks as it makes it easier for clans who are taking part in this to train on.
The first week in any league season is always a good start point, everyone is on the same points, and everyone feels they can win the title, at this point we have no clue on who will eventually win the title, or be relegated to the next division. Pro-HL eXtreme CSS League Season 5 also has an action packed Play Off system in store for teams who finish 6th in the above division and 3rd place in the below division to sort out who really can be up there with the greats.
This season sees 3 different skill based divisions, which will provide some quality entertainment on Wednesday nights, and all the coverage to be done via Quickscope and FragFM!
So here we are the top division, the division which features the big teams currently in UK CSS, with GE Clan, One World, Rasta., God Damn $exy Gamers all in attendance in the league, with Level Of Detail & OneWorld being the outsiders of Top 10 UK, and then we have MOD Ice, Iceland’s best team on current LAN performances over there, and GameLimited the dutch outfit who won Division One in Season 4 of Pro-HL eXtreme CSS League. Current title holders God damn $exy Gamers have their first game against Instincts, who were promoted last season from Division One, after finishing second in their division, and they certainly will be looking to make their intentions clear this season. The problem I see with that very game, is will Instincts have what it takes to keep up with the Premiership big guns, or will they be fighting for relegation, time will tell. Rasta. which is Hollis’ side who have recently got into EPS Season 3 and were ranked 6th in our Top 10 rankings will be looking to mount a serious challenge when they take on GameLimited who recently have been LANing quite a lot with FoM and some recent local LANs that they have been travelling to. In the other matches, GE Clan, which is FurY’s current home is looking to mount pressure on current title holders God Damn $exy Gamers by taking down OneWorld, a team who are new to the league, and do not participate in Enemy Down events, but have recently got themselves into EAS-1st division. And the final match up of the week is MOD’s Icelandic team called Ministry Of Darkness Ice taking on Level Of Detail, which equally should be an entertaining match, MOD Ice will be looking to bounce back from their recent defeat against Fragmasters Toxic in the Esports Heaven Sapphire Cup, whereas Level Of Detail are another team who have a formiddable lineup but online currently have little to show for it.
My Predictions for the Premiership are as follows:-
GEClan Vs OneWorld – 18 – 12
MOD Ice Vs Level Of Detail – 17 – 13
Rasta. Vs GameLimited – 17 – 13
G$G Vs Instincts – 20 – 10
Division One, ah my home team’s division, and most likely once again will be the hardest division to call, which is going to be awkward. This division hosts Sektor Gaming who in Enemy Down are suffering defeat after defeat after defeat in EDCSSL Division 2, along with Ministry Of Darkness eXtreme who have a strong line up but currently suffer from the “exam time, real life” problems with Xiphrex doing his finals in his Medical exams after 7 long years. In Division 2 we did have 2 representatives of Iceland, however Mada have only today just pulled out due to roster instability, so that leaves Myth filling the gap there, and once the page is complete, Mousemasters.EU will take Mada’s place. Rasta| also are in Division 1 again, along with Marvin’s team called Infidelis, another strong lineup to the division, and infact my title prediction, also in the division is Reece’s outfit (if you know Reece from Cadred) AllSaints.advancetec and rounding it up is Apathy Gaming. So there is your teams, now to this weeks matches, we have Sektor looking to start off with a clean slate from their recent EDCSSL troubles, taking on Infidelis, Marvin has assured me that whilst his team could be premiership material, they may not be at their best for this season. In the second game, it is MODx taking on Rasta|, and whilst I will be quick to dismiss Rasta|, I should know when it comes to Community “friendly” rivalries, I would very much doubt this will be a one sided affair. And in the other matches, we have Mousemasters.EU vs Apathy gaming (which should probably take place at a later date), and finally we have the Icelandic brigade of Myth against AllSaints.advancetec.
My Predictions for Division 1 are as follows: -
Sektor Vs Infidelis – 10 – 20
MODx Vs Rasta Gaming – 18 – 12
Myth Vs AllSaints.advancetec - 13 – 17
MouseMasters.eu Vs Apathy Gaming - 12 – 18
So the last of the 3 divisions we have on offer, and it is a mixed bag here, I currently see a possible 2 or 3 strong contenders for the title. From Season 4, Nicey are in this division as they were relegated from Division 1, and Flight643 who were in Division 2, narrowly missed out on the chance of being promoted. Along with those two, there is Coltkillaz mQL, NarChaD, Monkey Mafia, The Enigma Zone Crew, and two “home” teams from MOD, one being Hyper and the other being 5Star. So it should be a well contested division once again. If there is a dark horse in the title race for this division, I would personally put my money on either NarChaD or The Enigma Zone Crew, as those two are not the best of teams out there, but they certainly can put up a fight. I actually think that Flight643 this season, have one hell of a side to take this division, and could see Nicey, (as long as Bob doesnt play haha) really pile on the pressure on them, who will win, and who could win are two different things, all that matters is the results on the battlefield and whether these teams perform to their best, is going to be the biggest task facing them. The most interesting thing to come up is the fact that Nicey and NarChaD rematch their EDCSSL match earlier this week, on the same map, Nicey took that match 17 – 13 so in reality there maybe “bad blood” between the two, and to see whether NarChaD could take revenge on their opponents!
My Predictions for Division 2 are as follows:-
Nicey Vs NarChaD – 16 – 14
MOD Hyper Vs Monkey Mafia – 20 – 10
Coltkillaz mQL Vs Flight643 – 18 – 12
TEZC| Vs MOD 5Star – 16 – 14
Game Of The Week:
This Season, the league, has taken the same approach with the league, and will be showing off a match of the week, the match will have a SourceTV relay (250 spectators) courtesy of SourceTV.org (Bret) and will be shoutcasted by a certain few people at FragFM. I will include this in future predictions with the SourceTV IP address, and a way to listen to the commentry as well. Last night at 10pm, Ministry Of Darkness Ice took on Level Of Detail in what was a very one sided affair, with MOD Ice winning 14 – 1 in the first half as Terrorists, and then taking the second half 12 – 3 to win comprehensively 26 – 4.
*Editorial Note:Unfortunately I didn’t plan my time wisely and have had to push these out tonight instead of doing them for yesterday, some games have been completed but I did think whilst there are still a few reschedules, I should put this piece out. Obviously I apologise to everyone, as I got called into work early yesterday, so could not do much more of this yesterday morning! Week 2 predictions & Game of The Week next week will be placed up in good time.
