An article which was started over a week ago, a little out of a date now, especially with replacement teams/team changes/etc
So we’re already mid-season, it doesn’t seem too long ago that I was compiling my first EDCSSL week 1 prediction article. It has come a long way and with the feedback you’ve all provided I hope its starting to come together as an article people can actually bare to read and look forward to flaming us (lets face it, a bit of banter here and there is what makes it relatively interesting).
Anyway as it’s mid season the groups are starting to show what the possible outcomes to the divisions will be, some being more obvious than others, so I’ll take a quick look at how us article writers perceived the groups would go and how they are actually turning out; i.e. who was right and who was wrong!
avaLanche on Division 1: Back in the first week article due to limited time we didn’t really have any favourites for this group written up, though we all know the GLG team and the possibility of a highly skilled mix team pulling surprises though the biggest surprise for me in the group are the amount of draws… a strong MNSTRY drawing with GLG and then also drawing with instincts. Rasta. seem happy as larry currently sitting at the top of the table with 2 clean wins. On the other side of the table are inst and #teamc, are inst living up the the hype? Carrick have had change of roster or somesort if I recall and suffering it seems. All the rest of the teams are still sitting mid way and could still go either way for top spots.
Gumpster on Division 2: Gumps has given me something to work with by stating a favourite 4 in week 1. He mentioned G$G, TP.net, Imageless and Sektor as a top 4 favourite. However it appears at the moment he was half right with TP.net and G$G being the titans of the group and currently Imageless and Sektor struggling to gain the points at the moment and currently placing bottom. He was correct not to underestimate NYMFO who have recently joined the TP branch, and the previously underestimated sNg team who are sitting just within the top4. There is also a current.. how to put it.. “alteration” within group 2 with a team being replaced at week 4. Yes, nobody wants defaults they want to play their allotted games however the current debate is that this has certainly in-balanced the group as some have already got wins against a team that will now appear to be stronger than their predecessor and so some teams have already potentially got a point good point difference. Maybe something ED should be a little stricter on in the forthcoming leagues.
Gumpster on Division 3: He gave 3 potential strong teams and a definite favourite to win with this group, and so far fair play to him he’s been spot on. Phoenix Faction who I’ve had the pleasure of mixing with a couple of its members are certainly showing their skill level with 3 solid wins and a big point difference. Following behind are what he mentioned the “up and coming” 3mc whom are placing top 3 and 2 rasta teams up there, with Rasta-gaming coming up second.
DDM on Division 4: Here I mentioned a NiCeY that was currently on a short period of poor performance… well I suppose I was correct in saying I wouldn’t be surprised to see them put the effort into pulling out the wins. So far they’ve won comfortably all 3 games. It appears they would be a favourite for the group, though just below are Gnocide who I mentioned were playing some decent teams to improve their game. It appears its paid off, with them second and close behind is Inf: though Gnocide are yet to play their 3rd game so its hard to tell who will take 2nd, unless NiCeY drop in performance I can see them first and its a tie off between Inf and Gnocide. Though Inf have been labelled somewhere as default hunters that goes to show all teams must follow the rules… otherwise this current table would look a lot different with haYes.A and ANEXiS in 3rd and 4th.
DDM on Division 5: This group has a clear top2 with idkfa and [uG] BOTH of which have replaced other teams in the group and both of which will probably take 1st and 2nd though InnoV8 and SD:CSS are not too far behind point wise. The bottom of the group is still hard to predict as the current teams Credit! and 7tm have only played 1 game each still, and NoMercy are yet to play a game… think I read somewhere they went on Holiday.. oh that’s nice.. why bother sign up, maybe that team should of been replaced a lot earlier, just maybe.
DDM on Division 6: Ok so I was wildly wrong on this group, but hey boo hoo get a grip, I’m still getting used to the teams though in all fairness I should of realised who is playing under the esn:: tag, I’ve seen a few of those names floating around the scene for a while now (my bad for lack of research). Well they are certainly to take this group with ease now they have beaten their potential problematic team TP.zeal 25 – 5. I’d say esn will sail the rest of the group and take 1st and TP.zeal should take 2nd though they will need to take into account that apathy have only played 1 game and already have a bigger point difference, maybe an upset there.
DmE on Dvision 7: So DmE mentioned that MODx were to be a clear potential winner of this group due to them being highly ranked on both 2v2 and 5v5 ladder. Though at the moment it seems like its going to be a 3 way stand off between SEKTOR/ (Community I believe) rubin and MODx. All except MODx have played/confirmed 3 wins and MODx have 2, then there appears to be the rest of the group below them. It could still be an upset though I think the only way we can tell is when the 3 teams plays against each other to determine who are the ultimate champions of this Division.
DmE on Division 8: I believe DmE is more less right not to discount either the newer teams or the long standing teams, it seems pretty spread out with long standing Rasta| and a newer team [F643] tieing for first spot. Overall this group seems pretty spread out but equally spread out. A clear top 2 teams, a middle based 3 teams playing off against each other and 3 teams bottoming fighting to keep out of that relegation zone. Though it appears nicey. are struggling this season.
DmE on Division 9: With no clear favourites written down for this group its hard to tell how right or wrong DmE may have been, though overall his predictions haven’t been too bad. ta! and [ES-X] coming up potential first and 2nd and THGz and twk fighting their way up and currently sticking out 3rd and 4th, the bottom 4 seems pretty linear with SoG and [:XTX:] sitting at the bottom of the group with the greater point difference to the rest of the group even though DmE mentioned [:XTX:] having the advantage in the highest ladder position (which appears as always irrelevant).
avaLanche on Division 10: So avaLanche mentioned the good nature of the teams taking part to play here as well as pointing out whom he had hopes to do well within this group, Froody Pirates and SD:CSS second team were mentioned though they have only managed to place 3rd and 4th with DoG and Doomcraft placing 1st and 2nd, DoG seem to have the advantage with points and no loses where as 2nd, 3rd and 4th still have the potential to swap places depending on the rest of their results. Though I cant see any of them knocking DoG off unless they play poorly the rest of the season.

Looks great

Yeh The top division is panning out correctly. I think Rasta and Andy’s Vent will share 2nd and 3rd with GLG now winning, I thought GLG might have struggled and their game against AV went right to the wire!
IN Div10 I started off ok, then my main team went vastly off track losing 25-5. So I’m not quite sure what will happen
