Division 1 by avaLanche and DDM
The cream of the crop here at the top of the EDCSSL event, the teams here are experienced and have seen it all before, though with 2 newcomers this season with AV and #teamc. Teamc managed to clear division 2 respectively coming 2nd place last season, MTG on the other hand did not have the time to commit this season and gave their place to the mix team we’ve all come to know as “AV” (AndysVent).
An interesting game which I myself am looking forward to will be AV v GLG, depending on the team AV puts out will they have what it takes with their depth of skill to beat a team placed 4th at an I-series?
Inst – Rasta (21-9)
MINISTRY – GLG (11-19)
tct – AV (13-17)
#teamc – [ii] – (20-10)
Divisions 2 & 3 by Gumpster
So it is the first day of a new season for EDCSSL, and as the commentators say on Fifa “It is the day where everyone believes they can win the title as everyone is on level points”. I am going to be looking in rather great detail over Division’s 2 & 3, and infact both those divisions are going to be incredibly interesting.
In Division 2 you have the outsiders of Division 1 basically, with G$G, TP.net, Imageless, Sektor, and with those 4 teams they would be the first set of faviourites to be for the title this season. So who are the other teams who make up the division. You have new boys on the block mG.sNg who were previously known last season as xtremely Rated Sh*ts and Giggles, they played in Division 8 in Season 14, alongside my team MODx, they won the division, and had priority for jumping up the divisions. Along with them in Division 2 is 5k.Fish part of Gods of Chaos organisation, NYMFO (No introductions there) & Montague round up Division 2. So as I look over the division, i feel this may be one of two stories, a very closely fought division, or 2 sets of 4 teams, 1 set fighting for the title, and 1 set fighting to stay up. Whatever the weather it looks like it will be a close division. If I were to place bets on anyone winning the division, i would instantly say Goddamn $exy Gamers, and despite their 16 – 14 loss to MODx recently, one should note that it was with a brand new core 5, so time will tell whether this team will step up and say “we are ready for the title”. I again glance over at NYMFO, and see that they recently competed in the ED Open Cup and got knocked out by 3 Man Clan (who are in Division 3, so no grudge match unfortunately) but I do not think we can rule NYMFO out, they are not the team to be underestimated, and so I will say they have a shot. And alongside those two in fact, I would say it will be a close one between Sektor Gaming and tp.net! Alot of people would be quick to rule out either team, but there is in a sense an “undisclosed” power in either team. To rule either one out would be silly, and I would be quick to point out that tp.net will certainly be the “dark horse” of the division because they are quite a way up in the ladder at present, and have been on excellent form. So who do I think will win? God knows at this point ha!
Montague Vs TP| – 13 – 17
mG.sNG Vs Sektor – 10 – 20
Imageless Vs G$G – 12 – 18
NYMFO Vs 5k.Fish – 16 – 14
Now Division 3 is interesting, you have a former power house from the early Source Days Phoenix Faction, along with them you have oldskool Snipers Alley, and then the joys of 3 Man Clan as well, if this division isn’t simple nostalgia, then my god I am not sure what I have walked into here. We also have Zouch, EoE, Rasta. Registered, Remix & Nil Desperandum who make Division 3 what it is. So who would you pitch as faviourites to win the title here? Well, I would place my bets on Phoenix Faction, they have been on the upcurve recently and whilst their results in ED Open ladder of late have been a little erratic as of late, you cannot seem to think they will pull out that “Ace” card in Season 15 of EDCSSL. The other strong contenders would be the repolished 3 Man Clan, in fact I have recently heard them as a clan up and coming again, they have been really doing well in Max Carnage League, and I would pitch them as a “silent” contender, or a “dark horse” in the pack. Whilst happening to now look at what you can simply call LAN Kings Rasta, i would put them as a deadly contender for that title. It is a little too early to think who could win, but those 3 names do pop out at me.
ND| Vs EoE – 11 – 19
3Man Clan Vs Snipers – 17 – 13
Rasta® Vs Zouch – 20 – 10
Remix Vs {P|F} – 10 – 20
Divs 4, 5 and 6 by DDM
Division 4
Here we have some the teams which have been all over ED from top end to bottom, the long time members of |NiCeY| whom I remember playing in Division 4 when I played for both IOA and xR.Gaming. Though their recent form doesn’t seem too strong with 4 straight losses (in the ED ladder anyway) but I’d never underestimate them to put in effort and pull out a win where it matters. Lg5 having a small run in the Open Cup and managing to get 7 rounds off inst. before being knocked out. Also we have «Ki» whom is part of the instincts umbrella though using what I think is the original tag in which Killer Instincts started off with on ED. We also have ip.css| who I’m sure I’ve played against before and aren’t too shabby though their activity in ED has currently dwindled. haYes.A isn’t a team that strikes you though their performance is quite good and they have some old school players such as “MaXzor”. Simply and ANEXiS do not appear to be active in the Open ladder though could be elsewhere, its a rather balanced group and I think the only team that will stand out is Inf: whom have competed with Div 2 teams in the Open Ladder.
Simply v ANEXiS. (20 – 10)
|NiCeY| v Lg5 (16 – 14)
Inf:. v «Ki» (21 – 9)
haYes.A v ip.css| (22 – 8 )
Divisions 5
SD:css will be an interesting team here to follow as they have quite the big community and have what appears 4 teams and a community team if you go by the tags on their public server. Though whether these teams are active is hard to tell! 7™ appears to be a team that is here for the EDCSSL rather than being active in the ladder though HYPE seem similar in skill though have more to show on their results page. InnoV8 is a team that I keep noticing, maybe the tag just caught my eye though they seemed to have played against quite a few teams that I follow. The Credit! lads which I’ve had the pleasure of mixing will be giving a performance of magic in this Division and are playing one of the other instinct team Ki.A whom I have no idea what to expect. Last but not least is the Mod.#5* team (what a tag) and they will be playing synthetica whom have only just scraped all 5 players for their first game with all 5 being green ticked before the match on Tuesday.
7™ v HYPE (13 – 17)
SD:css^ v InnoV8 (19 – 11)
Credit! v Ki.A (20 – 10)
MOD.#5* v Synthe (22 – 8 )
Division 6
We have some teams here that people recognize all over the place, YeGods| whom once upon a time had a very strong gaming team and {TC} which is the more casual team Carrick compared to their stronger “teamc” line-up. Some teams I’ve not noticed before is AAO (AgainstAllOdds) which is a relatively new name to EDCSSL, also (: which has “popes css team” on their clan page though has some team members that have been around a long while. We also have plySMRT which has been a pretty active team in ED lately and should be able to give a performance from all the practice they’ve had from all their recent games where they seem to be racking up the green on their results page. Finally we have apathy and CK both teams of which we have our very own writers taking part with a massive showdown from DmE and Davros.
YeGods| v AAO (20 – 10)
{TC} v esn :: (17 – 13)
plySMRT v (: (16 – 14)
apathy v CK[mQL] (15 – 15)
Divisions 7, 8 and 9 by DmE
Division 7
Division 7 basically contains some up and coming teams or 2nd teams of major organizations so there will be a lot of desire here to push up to follow their fellow orgmates. Though with MODx positioned so highly in both 2v2 and 5v5 open, can any team here really stop them taking gold this season?
|3MC| v SektorC – Got to be sektor for me in this one, despite being a community team they are housing some competitive desire and players, my prediction is 21-9 to sektor.
LDN v rubin. – I predict a 19-11 to rubinelle here, with LDN having only just joined the open ladder and having a few recent roster changes I think rubin will just about have enough to topple them with some inferno practice having passed in open.
TBC-A v FW – Well with tbc-a only having 1 player on their roster, this is probably a reschedule or a default to FW
MODx v SCK – As I previously wrote, MODx for me have to be favourites for this entire division. So I feel despite SCK surely giving it their all MODx will come out on top 22-8.
Division 8
Division 8 houses some of the teams that have been in ED a long time and as such are common names such as Narchad and kea. Will this long standing in ED prove to have given them enough experience to take the division or will a newer team go for gold?
KEA v JEDI – Both of these teams are long standing in ED open, but is KEA’s advanced position gonna be enough to take the win here? With a few roster changes JEDI are a bit of a new outfit for this season, but I feel KEA will still have enough to take it with a close 17-13.
Narchad v Blood^ – Narchad are enough long standing team in the league but with them being heavily inactive since EDCSSL14 and their promotion from division 9, I think blood after some impressive results in open against higher division teams will take this, 20-10 my prediction
Rasta| v nicey. Rasta have moved around orgs a few times since their formation and seem to have settled in rasta with some impressive victorys and with them quickly moving up the ladder. With nicey. Being more of a 2nd team I think It has to be Rasta| to come in as newboys and take this game and in my eyes favourites to take the division. 21-9 Rasta|
F643 v LaB – Despite LaB being promoted last season I think f643 and their recent impressive results will do them well in this game, taking it 19-11.
Division 9
THGz v ES-X – With a fairly red results page, I cant help but feel THGz should be able to sneak this win on a heavily practice map, so 18-12 THGz.
kk. v XTX –Again 2 teams that seem to have been in ED since the beginning. XTX certainly have the advantage when we are looking at open positions but will that be enough? This is a bit up in the air with neither team being very active of late. With that in mind cant really separate the two sides so im predicting a draw 15-15
ta! V SoG – With an advanced open position, their favourite map being inferno, and them being heavily active, nothing sways me from ta! Winning this one, so my prediction is a 20-10 win ta!
B0s v TWK – with both teams not really having played a lot since edcssl season 14 and with both teams having been on the end of some losses in recent games this is another hard one to call, but through sheer activeness I think bos will take this in a close game. 16-14 my prediction
Division 10 by avaLanche
A Division notorious for their fair play and good fun games. From here we have teams that revolve around the community aspect and take part mostly in good nature rather than to “frag randomners” etc. Some names that have been around for a while are MAG (Middle Aged Gamers) and of course theres another SDCSS team taking part. DoG whom I remember playing years ago in the Open Ladder and still seem to be going though under a varied lineup I imagine.
Favourites to win in this group? I’d like to see one of the Froody Teams do well and I suspect the SDCSS² team could perform pretty well too!
: DoG : – CRO (14-16)
[FP] – str!ve (18-12)
[D] – SDCSS² (8-22)
MAG – bn (15-15)

Amen

Really good read but if I’m picky I’d say it needs a standard format across the league.
