Ah the ability to write crap and have it published.
Ok maybe that’s not the best line to start off my first article with but we’ll give it a go and see how it works.
Now for my first article I think it’s only fitting if I look back at my time in the css scene and have a true look at some of the mainstays that have helped keep the community ticking over.
Thinking logically about it, there are around 4-5 top uk teams then there are another 5 maybe 10 clans after that they keep around that bracket, so we’ll call it 15 teams, but after that there are a good 200+ teams around the UK, there is no way that those 45 or so individuals have kept this game going since its birth in late 2004. There have been some stella teams that have come and gone in those years, but the people behind them have mainly stuck around, the big css communities, a quick look over the likes of the Enemydown ladders, bares names that have been around for years. From the bigger names of TwistedPlay, Rasta-Gaming and MOD to the smaller ones MAG and ES-X. These teams who take on 10s and 20s of players all just there to have a good time. It’s amazing and the people behind the scenes of those communities who put in the hours to make sure everything runs smoothly, it’s just as I said amazing. So hopefully in these upcoming articles we will be getting to have a chat with these guys and give their communities some much deserved recognition.
We’ll start off with a look into the Aerelon Community… No doubt you’ve spent some time on their dust2 24/7 server… And probably had as much trouble as me spelling it!

Basically worked my way up the ranks helping manage the Community team and then the second team before then joined the Aerelon Council. Now top of that i’m now an ED admin for CSS

How your progressing?
It’s going ok, bit rough and tumble for our match teams with ED having their issues and people getting bored but the community is still going strong.
oshVorn – QuickScope – WATCHOUT!: how many of you guys are there about now then? As I’m guessing you’ve got a lot of members hanging around now due to the popularity of your public servers
Who knows really, people come and go all the time, then come back from being away. Most of the community are the players of the public servers the ones who (for some reason) keep coming back.
How many teams are you running?
We have a semi active main team, with a new second team close to completion/activity. We also may resurrect our COD4 and L4D teams with the newer version being released.
Best thing about your community?

Any rivalries in the past?

What about the ‘real life’ then? Has AG ventured out there yet? Lans, meet ups, BBQs?
Not as whole, many do meet up from time to time who live close to each other, the London Crew for example, but it’s a bit hard for some of the younger members who can’t drive.
Any stand out players at the moment? Or maybe players who play at the top now who once played with the AG community?
Not really, just most of our players have come up from the community team to be first teamers.

Are clans like KI still about? Not seen them in ages. Maybe interview ShitsNGiggles, try and get some controversial and gossipy stuff like why they are ranked so low in EDCSSL etc.

and in reply to DDM, yes Ki are still about, our main team in Ki are called instincts. now have been as of December 2008, that’s why you havn’t really seen “Ki ” around, but we are still active playing most cups that come aroundi n ED
